Anthony Martial bagged a brace as Manchester United recorded a 3-2 win over Southampton at St Mary's on Sunday afternoon.
Southampton opened the scoring with the first chance of the game, as Graziano Pelle slotted home from close range, after David De Gea had saved Sadio Mane's effort.
The hosts nearly found themselves two goals up a minute later but Pelle struck the upright from the edge of the area with only De Gea to beat.
United were presented with a chance to level matters in the 23rd minute when Juan Mata picked out Memphis Depay in the box but the Dutchman directed his header well over the target.
The visitors eventually leveled matters in the 34th minute when Anthony Martial showed great composure to beat Virgil Van Dijk, before slotting past Martin Stekelenberg. His second goal in as many game.
United then went ahead shortly after the halftime break, as Martial pounced on poor back pass from Yoshida, before calmly slotting past Stekelenberg.
De Gea had to be at his best in the 58th minute, as the United produced a stunning save to keep out Jose Fonte's glancing header.
The visitors managed to grab a third in the 68th minute, as Memphis did well to beat his marker before rattling the upright, however Mata was on hand to steer home the rebound.
Southampton did managed to reduce the deficit in the 86th minute when Pelle rose highest to head home Mane's cross from the right flank.
De Gea ensured United walked away with the three points when he pulled off a fine save to keep out Victor Wanyama's stunning effort in stoppage time.
United held on for the three points and have moved up to second spot in the Premier League table.
