English Premier League
Result: QPR 1-2 Tottenham
Date: 7 March 2015
Venue: Loftus Road
A brace from Harry Kane gave Tottenham a 2-1 victory over QPR in their Premier League clash at Loftus Road on Saturday.
The R's threatened early in the game, forcing Hugo Lloris into a top save. A poor back pass from Kyle Walker allowed Charlie Austin to slip in and intercept the ball, but Lloris reacted quickly and rushed out to parry the ball away.
However, it was the visitors who broke the deadlock in the 34th minute. Andros Townsend played a superb ball into the box where Harry Kane was on hand to head home at the far post.
Spurs came agonisingly close to doubling their lead in the 47th minute. Christian Eriksen beat Robert Green with his shot and found the post but the rebound that fell for Kane was somehow sliced wide by the man who gave Tottenham the lead.
Kane redeemed himself in the 68th minute as he completed his brace and increased Spurs' advantage. Dier played a ball over the top that Kane latched onto before rounding the keeper and sliding it into the back of the net.
QPR got themselves back into the game in the 75th minute as they notched up their first goal of the game. Bobby Zamora set it up perfectly for former Spurs man Sandro to run onto the ball and place it past Lloris into the bottom corner, but Spurs held on for the three points.
