Aguero & Jesus Save City's Blushes

Manchester City failed to move clear of Manchester United, as they played out a 2-2 draw with Middlesbrough at the Riverside on Sunday afternoon.

Boro nearly went ahead after 13 minutes through Alvaro Negredo, however the former Man City striker fired inches wide of the upright.

The hosts had another chance to break the deadlock in the 31st minute but Martin De Roon blazed over the crossbar from close range.

Pep Guardiola's charges saw a lot of the ball in the opening stanza but were unable find a way past the Boro defence.

However, it was Middlesbrough took the lead in the 38th minute as Negredo smashed home from the edge of the box, after being picked out by George Friend.

The score remained 1-0 to the home side at the break.

Gaurdiola opted for a double change a the start of second half, as Raheem Sterling and Leroy Sane replaced Alex Garcia and Gael Clichy.

The visitors were eventually awarded a penalty in the 67th minute when Sane was brought down. Sergio Aguero stepped up and converted the spot kick.

Boro restored their lead in the 77th minute as Callum Chambers pounced on a loose ball in the box and poked home from close range.

However, City leveled matters once again in the 85th minute as Aguero turned provider to pick out Gabriel Jesus, who headed into the far corner.

City pushed for a winning goal in the closing stages, but the Boro defence managed to hold out till the final whistle.
