English Premier League
Result: Manchester United 1-1 Wolverhampton Wanderers
Date: 22 September 2018
Venue: Old Trafford
Manchester United failed to secure maximum points at home once again as they were held to a draw by newly-promoted Wolverhampton Wanderers.
Alexis Sanchez, Fred and Jesse Lingard returned to the Red Devils line, while Marcus Rashford remains suspended.
Despite coming into the clash on a three-game winning run, it was the visitors who threatened early on, with David de Gea being called into action twice in the opening 10 minutes.
However, the deadlock was broken on 18 miutes as Paul Pogba did well to tee up Fred, who sent a fine low strike past Rui Patricio.
Wolves, meanwhile, showed glimpses of what they are capable of with a couple breaks on the counter, but they were unable to test De Gea for the rest of the half.
Old Trafford was silenced seven minutes into the second half when Joao Moutinho restored parity with a superb strike from the edge of the box.
Jose Mourinho responded by introducing Juan Mata and Anthony Martial for Fred and Alexis Sanchez in the 63rd minute.
The Red Devils threw everything forward in search of a winning but the likes of Romelu Lukaku and Marouan Fellain were unable to make their presence felt.
That was the trend for the rest of the half as Wolves hung on for a famous point at Old Trafford, where United have now failed to win in two matches.
