Jose Mourinho made one change from last weekend's win over Swansea City, as Rashford made way for Anthony Martial.
The Red Devils enjoyed a lot of the possession in the opening exchanges, with Leicester struggling to cope in the middle of the park.
The host went close to breaking the deadlock in the 18th minute as Juan Mata did well to nutmeg Harry Maguire, before being denied by a superb save from Kasper Schmeichel
Leicester, on the other hand, were on the back foot for most of the opening 45 minutes but they rarely threatened David De Gea.
Five minutes into the second half, United were awarded a penalty when Danny Simpson handled in the box. Romelu Lukaku stepped up and had his penalty saved by Schmeichel.
With United struggling to break down Leicester, Mourinho introduced Rashford for Mata in the 66th minute.
Rashford's impact was immediate as he was left unmarked in the box to volley home Henrikh Mkhitaryan's corner from 12-yards out.
United eventually sealed the win the 81st minute as Jesse Lingard's strike was deflected into the net by Fellaini.
