English Premier League
Result: Manchester United 0-0 Crystal Palace
Date: 24 November 2018
Venue: Old Trafford
Manchester United's struggles in the Premier League continued after they failed to secure victory against Crystal Palace, who claim their first point at Old Trafford since 1989.
Matteo Darmian was handed his second start of the season, replacing the suspended Luke Shaw while Romelu Lukaku also returned to the line up.
The Red Devils enjoyed most of the possession in the opening 15 minutes, with Paul Pogba orchestrating in the middle of the park, although they were unable to trouble Wayne Hennessey.
Palace had a chance to break the deadlock on a counter attack with Wilfried Zaha teeing up Patrick Van Aanholt, who failed to hit the target with only David de Gea to beat on 24 minutes.
Hennessey came to Palace's rescue after 30 minutes as he produced two saves to deny Jesse Lingard and Anthony Martial in quick succession.
Palace had the ball in the back of the net just before the break, but Cheikhou Kouyaté's header was ruled out for offside.
De Gea came to United's rescue before the hour mark with a double save to deny Zaha and then Van Aanholt to keep his side in the game.
The visitors should have taken the lead after 74 minutes when Andros Townsend found himself one-on-one with De Gea, but the winger fired horribly wide.
Lukaku nearly put United ahead after 83 minutes but his towering header was brilliantly tipped away by Hennessey for a corner.
The Red Devils threw everything forward in search of a winning goal, but they could bypass the Palace defence and had to settle for a share of the spoils.
