Result: Manchester United 2-2 Burnley
Date: 26 December 2017
Venue: Old Trafford
Manchester United dropped points for the second successive game after they came from behind to draw 2-2 with Burnley at Old Trafford on Tuesday evening.
Zlatan Ibrahimovic started his first league match of the campaign alongside Romelu Lukaku, while Luke Shaw was also handed a start.
The visitors took a surprising lead after just three minutes when Ashley Barnes bundled the ball home from close range after United failed to clear their lines.
It was 2-0 after 36 minutes when Steven Defour curled home a sublime free-kick from 25-yards out that left the David de Gea with no chance.
That proved to be the final chance of the half as the home side struggled to carve out chances and went into the break trailing by two goals.
Jose Mourinho introduced Henrikh Mkhitaryan and Jesse Lingard at the start of the second half, as they looked to get back in the tie.
Lingard made the perfect impact as he turned home Ashley Young's cross with a fine flick to reduce the deficit in the 53rd minute.
United were camped in the Burnley half for most of the second stanza as they pushed for the equaliser.
The Red Devils were eventually rewarded in the first minute of stoppage time when Lingard volleyed home from just inside the box, 2-2.
Burnley managed to see off a late surge from Mourinho charges to claim a valuable point on the road.
