Venue: Etihad
Manchester City moved up to third in the English Premier League standings, after thrashing Crystal Palace 5-0 at the Etihad.
City broke the deadlock after just two minutes as David Silva volleyed home from 12-yards out to mark his return with a goal.
It was one way traffic in the first half as the front three of Gabriel Jesus, Raheem Sterling and Leroy Sane caused a few problems to the Palace defence.
Palace nearly leveled matters in the 35th minute but Willy Caballero produced a super save to keep out Christian Benteke's header.
That proved to be Palace's only clear-cut chance in the half, as City continued to dominate although they failed to add to their advantage before the break.
It didn't take City long to double their lead in the second half as De Bruyne picked out Vincent Kompany, who smashed the ball into the top corner from 12-yards out in the 48th minute.
De Bruyne then got his name on the score-sheet in the 59th minute with a composed finish from the edge of the box, after being teed up by Gabriel Jesus.
Palace went close to reducing the deficit in the 70th minute but Caballero did well to tip Mathieu Flaimini's effort over the crossbar.
City had the chance to get a fourth goal four minutes later when Fernandino picked out Sane in the box, but the German midfielder skewed his finish wide from close range.
The host did eventually bag a fourth goal in the 82nd minute as Sterling volleyed home from close range, following a cross from Pablo Zabaleta.
City added a fifth goal in stoppage time as Nicolas Otamendi glanched home a header after getting on the end of De Bruyne's free-kick, 5-0.
