A single goal from Bernardo Silva handed Manchester City a 1-0 win over Chelsea in an English Premier League match at the Etihad Stadium on Sunday.
City started the better of the two teams and created the first chance on goal in the 12th minute when Leroy Sane met an inch-perfect cross into the box, but his header shaved the wrong side of the crossbar.
In the 27th minute, Leroy Sane had another golden chance to score after producing a superb first touch to bring a free-kick under control inside the box, but he saw his 14-yard effort cleared off the line by the Chelsea defenders.
Neither side could find a goal before the break and entered the tunnel locked at 0-0.
A minute into the second half City did take the lead when David Silva played Bernardo Silva through on goal and the latter made no mistake with just the keeper to beat, 1-0.
Ten minutes later, Chelsea finally managed to create their first real scoring chance when Victor Moses met a cross inside the box, but his 12-yard volley went inches wide of the post.
In the 67th minute, City’s Kevin De Bruyne created some space for himself on the edge of the box, but he shot inches wide of the woodwork.
Chelsea threw players forward in the final 20 minutes of the match and dominated the possession stakes, but City held firm at the back and picked up another three points.
