Result: Man City 1-1 Hull
Date: 7 February 2015
Venue: Etihad Stadium
A late strike saved Manchester City from what would have been a disastrous defeat at home to Hull City on Saturday as they drew 1-1.
The home side were trailing 1-0 with time running out before a last-ditch free-kick from James Milner saved their blushes.
The Tigers came within inches of taking the early lead when Brady sniped down the left flank to bend in a superb cross for Elmohamady to pounce on, but his header went straight at the crossbar.
In the 35th minute it was Hull who did open the scoring after threatening to upset the City support with a few early chances. Poor City defending saw an initial shot on goal hit the post and come back to fall for David Meyler who fired home for a 1-0 lead.
The Sky Blues had a great opportunity to level matters shortly before the interval. David Silva played a slick reverse pass to Fernando in the area and it sat up nicely for Samir Nasri to hit first time, but instead he opted to take a touch and subsequently lost the ball.
Man City came close in the 53rd minute as they counter-attacked down the right and sent a cross towards Edin Dzeko at the far post but his close-range strike was well saved by McGregor in the Hull goal.
The hosts were desperate for the equaliser and piled bodies forward with time running out. They came agonisingly close to netting the leveller in the 89th minute but with McGregor rooted to the spot Sergio Aguero's shot found the woodwork instead of the back of the net.
However, in stoppage time the hosts finally found the goal they were looking for. James Milner curled a free-kick into the bottom corner of the Hull goal to make it 1-1 and salvage a point for City.
