Sterling Slots Hat-Trick As Man City Dominate

English Premier League

Result: Man City 5-1 Bournemouth

Date: 17 October 2015

Venue: Etihad Stadium

Raheem Sterling netted a hat-trick for Manchester City on Saturday as they smashed Bournemouth 5-1 in the English Premier League.

The Sky Blues were off to a flying start as they took the lead in the seventh minute. Pablo Zabaleta played a ball in from the byline to Wilfried Bony who in turn poked it towards Sterling to tap home from close range.

City were two goals clear after only 11 minutes as Bony joined the scoresheet. Bacary Sagna sent a low cross into the area where Federici fumbles the ball straight towards Bony who was delighted to steer it home.

Bournemouth had a glimmer of hope in the 22nd minute as they pulled a goal back. O'Kane played the ball into the path of Glenn Murray who shot with power and found the target via a slight deflection.

However, the lead was restored in the 29th minute as Sterling added his second. Kevin De Bruyne provided the assist on this occasion as he threaded a through ball to Sterling who beat a few defenders on his way to a cool finish.

The floodgates were well and truly open on the stroke of half-time as Sterling completed his hat-trick. A poor decision from Federici to come off his line gave Sterling the chance to pounce on the loose ball and find the back of the net yet again.

City's fifth of the day arrived just before the final whistle. Bony grabbed his second as he placed his shot past Federici after a great cross from Jesus Navas.
