African stars Sadio Mane and Mohamed Salah were among the goals as Liverpool cruised to a 4-0 win over West Ham United in their Premier League opener at Anfield.
Jurgen Klopp handed league debuts to Alisson Becker and Naby Keita, while Fabinho and Xherdan Shaqiri started on the bench.
As expected, the hosts dominated possession in the early stages, but they had to wait until the 18th minute for the opening as Salah turned home Andre Robertson's cross.
The Hammers looked pull themselves after 26 minutes but Fabian Balbuena's towering header was saved by Alisson.
Goalkeeper Lukasz Fabianski was the busier of the two of the goalkeepers and he was called upon in the 37th minute to deny Salah a second from point-blank range.
The Reds did manage to double their lead on the stroke of halftime as James Milner did well to pick out Mane, who made no mistake from close range.
Shortly after the break, the Reds extended their lead as Mane bagged his second with neat turn and finish to make it 3-0, although replays suggest he was offside.
West Ham manager Manuel Pellergini responded by introducing former Manchester United striker Javier Hernandez after the hour mark.
Despite Liverpool's dominance, chances were hard to come by for the hosts as they were let down by their final ball on a few ocassions.
Daniel Sturridge was introduced in the 87th minute and he scored seconds after coming on by turning home Milner's cross at the far post to round off the scoring.
