Liverpool came from behind to record a 2-1 win over Leicester City thanks to a brace from an African star at Anfield.
Leicester broke the deadlock after just two minutes as Vincent Iborra capitalised on a Liverpool error and played in Riyad Mahrez, who unselfishly teed up Jamie Vardy for the simple tap-in, 0-1.
Four minutes later, the Reds should have leveled matters but Mohamed Salah failed to his the target from six-yards out.
The hosts had the ball in the back of the net after 18 minutes but Sadio Mane's strike was flagged for offside by the assistant.
It was one-way traffic in the first half as Jurgen Klopp's men dominated the encounter although they struggled to carve out clear-cut chances.
Seven minutes into the second half, the Reds restored parity asMane's back-heel found Salah, who calmly fired past Kasper Schmeichel, 1-1.
The Foxes went close to restoring their lead in the 66th minute but Wilfried Ndidi's volley sailed inches wide of the upright.
With 20 minutes remaining, Klopp opted for a change as Mane made way for Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, while Leicester introduced Shinji Okazaki and Islam Slimani.
However, Liverpool took the lead in the 75th minute as Salah turned his marker before firing into the bottom corner, 2-1.
The Foxes did not sit back and threw numbers forward in search of an equaliser in the final 15 minutes.
Klopp's men mnaged to see off the late surge from Leicester to end their year with three points.
