English Premier League
Result: Liverpool 1-1 Everton
Date: 10 December 2017
Wayne Rooney cancelled out Mohamed Salah's first-half goal as Liverpool and Everton drew 1-1 in the Merseyside derby at Anfield.
Klopp made a couple of surprising alterations to his line up, as Philippe Coutinho and Roberto Firmino dropped to the bench while Dominic Solanke was handed a start.
The game got off to a cagey start, with the game's first chance arriving on 10 minutes when James Milner's close range volley was blocked by Jonjoe Kenny.
That proved to be the trend for most of the first half as both sides found it tough to create chances.
However, the Reds broke the deadlock three minutes before the halftime break as Salah sent a fine curling effort into the top corner from just inside the box.
Four minutes into the second half, Liverpool almost doubled their lead but Salah's header sailed inches wide of the upright.
In the 66th minute, Klopp opted for a surprising change as he withdrew Salah for Firmino.
With 15 minute to go, Everton were awarded a spot when Dominic Calvert-Lewin was brought down by Dejan Lovren. Rooney stepped up and made no mistake from the spot to level matters, 1-1.
Klopp threw on Coutinho for the final stages of the second half, but his introduction was too late as the Toffees managed to hold on to secure a point.
