Kane Nets Four As Spurs Humiliate Leicester

English Premier League

Result: Leicester City 1-6 Tottenham Hotspur

Date: 18 May 2017

Venue: King Power Stadium

Tottenham Hotspur will finish the Premier League season in second spot, after they thumped Leicester City 6-1 at the King Power Stadium on Thursday evening.

Both sides showed their attacking intent early on and carved out a couple chances in the opening 15 minutes, with the likes of Jamie Vardy and Harry Kane going close.

Spurs eventually broke the deadlock after 25 minutes as Heung-Min Son raced into the box and pulled the ball back for Kane, who slotted home from close range.

The lead was doubled just over 10 minutes later when Dele Alli lifted the ball over the top for Son, who fired past Schmeichel with a first-time volley.

Spurs continued to push for more goals in the remaining stages of the first half, but Schmeicel produced two saves in the closing stages.

After a quiet start to the second half, Leicester reduced the deficit in the 60th minute as Vardy played in Ben Chilwell, who showed good composure to slot home with his right foot.

Leicester's joy was short-lived when Spurs restored their two-goal advantage two minutes later through Kane's close range header.

The scoring did not stop there for the visitors. Son managed to get his second and Spurs' fourth with a clinical effort from 20-yards out.

With the second half coming to an end, Craig Shakespeare introduced Nigerian forward, Ahmed Musa for Vardy in the final 10 minutes.

Kane managed to complete his hat-trick in the 88th minute with a driven effort from the edge of the box, as Spurs bagged their fifth goal,

There was enough time for Spurs to get a sixth goal as Kane collected a pass from Ben Davies before firing into the bottom corner from the edge of the box.
