African Superstar On Target As Liverpool Maintain Perfect Start

English Premier League

Result: Leicester City 1-2 Liverpool

Date: 01 September 2018

Venue: King Power Stadium

Liverpool maintained their perfect start to the Premier League season with a 2-1 victory over Leicester City at the King Power Stadium.

Jurgen Klopp opted for one change from the win over Brighton & Hove Albion, as Guinea midfielder Naby Keita made way for Jordan Henderson.
The surprising change did not disturb Liverpool's rhythm as they broke the deadlock on nine minutes when Andrew Robertson's cross deflected into the path of Mane, who drilled the ball past Kasper Schmeicel.
The Foxes, meanwhile, did see a bit of the ball as the first half went on but they struggled to carve out a chance in the box without a recognised striker.
The Reds doubled their lead on the stroke of halftime, with Robert Firmino rising well to head home James Milner's corner.
Leicester came out a livelier side in the second half and they were rewarded in the 63 minutes when Kelechi Iheanacho dispossessed Reds goalkeeper Alisson Becker before picking out Rachid Gezzal, who slotted into an empty net.
Klopp responded by introducing Xherdan Shaqiri and Keita for the in-effective Mohamed Salah and Henderon for the final 20 minutes.
The Foxes pushed for an equaliser in the closing stages of the second half, but Klopp's men were able to hold on for three points.
