Roberto Firmino, Emre Can and Mohamed Salah were among the goals as Liverpool defeated Huddersfield Town 3-0 on Tuesday evening.
Jurgen Klopp made a surprising change to the line up as Virgil van Djik was dropped to the bench.
After a quiet start to the half, the hosts managed to carve out a chance in the 17th minute when Laurent Depoitre forced Loris Karius into a fine save from 12-yards out.
The deadlock was eventually broken in the 26th minute courtesy of a deflected volley from Can, 0-1.
The home side pushed for an equaliser and they went close four minutes before the break when Chris Lowe's free-kick sailed inches wide of the upright.
However, Liverpool managed to double their lead on the stroke of halftime as Firmino weaved his way into the box before firing home at the near post.
Ten minutes into the second half, Liverpool could have extended their advantage but Mane failed to trouble Jonas Lossl with a header from close range.
Huddersfield, meanwhile, were finding it tough to break down the Liverpool defence as Karius endured a quiet evening.
The Reds were eventually awarded a penalty in the 78th minute. Salah stepped up and made no mistake from 12-yards out, 0-3.
That proved to be the final chance of the half as Liverpool ran out convincing winners on the night.
Other result:
Mark Noble cancelled out Christian Benteke's early strike as West Ham United and Crystal Palace played to a 1-1 draw.
