Paul Pogba continued his impressive form after netting a brace to inspire Manchester United to a 3-0 win over Fulham in the Premier League on Saturday afternoon.
The Devils came into the game on an eight-game unbeaten run, after winning seven and drawing another of the Premier League matches under Solskjaer.
Despite early scares from the hosts, United took the lead in the 14th minute through a brilliant finish by Paul Pogba against the run of play after a through ball from Anthony Martial.
Martial then got on the score-sheet himself after 23 minutes as he picked up the ball in his own half before skipping past two Fulham defenders before placing the ball into the far corner.
Solskjaer’s charges were efficient with the two goals and could afford to drop deep and absorb the pressure just after the half-hour mark.
Martial came close to making it 3-0 and in the tail end of the half, but he was denied by Fulham goalkeeper Sergio Rico who tipped his effort over the bar.
After a quiet start to the half, United were awarded a penalty in the 65th minute, which allowed Pogba to step up and convert to make it 3-0 and complete his brace in the process.
Solskjaer made his first alteration from the bench 20 minutes before time as he withdrew Martial for Alexis Sanchez, while Pogba made way for Scott McTominay a few minutes later.
Ranieri was looking for something different in the last ten minutes as Tom Cairney replaced Ryan Babel and Ryan Sessegnon got on for Joe Bryan on the left wing for fresh legs.
However, there was no comeback for the home side as Solskjaer’s troops saw out the remaining stages with ease to move up to fourth spot.
