English Premier League
Result: Crystal Palace 2-3 Manchester United
Date: 05 March 2018
Venue: Selhurst Park
Manchester United came back from two goals down to claim a 3-2 win over Crystal Palace thanks a stunning winner from Nemanja Matic in the dying moments of the game.
United were without Anthony Martial, who suffered an injury in training. Jesse Lingard was recalled to the starting line-up.
Palace broke the deadlock after 11 minutes as Andros Townsend collected a pass on the edge of the box and unleashed a strike that deflected off Victor Lindelof and sailed into the top corner.
The Red Devils dominated the rest of the first half but they found it tough to break down the Palace defence.
That proved to be the trend for the rest of the stanza as the home side took a one-goal lead into the break.
Jose Mourinho opted for a change at the start of the second half, with Marcus Rashford replacing Scott McTominay.
Two minutes into the second half, Palace doubled their lead as a quick free-kick saw Patrick van Aanholt race clear on goal and slot past David De Gea.
The visitors pulled a goal after 54 minutes when an unmarked Chris Smalling headed home Antonio Valencia's cross.
Mourinho made his final two changes in the 66th minute by introducing Luke Shaw and Juan Mata as they pushed for an equaliser.
The leveler eventually arrived with 14 minutes remaining through Romelu Lukaku, who drilled a low shot past Wayne Hennessey from 12-yards out.
United threw numbers forward in the closing stages in search of a winning goal, and they were rewarded in the first minute of second-time stoppage time thanks to a superb volley from Nemanja Matic that left Hennessey no chance.
