Eden Hazard netted a brace to lead Premier League leaders Chelsea to a 2-1 win over Pep Guardiola's Manchester City at Stamford Bridge.
The Blues broke the deadlock in the 10th minute as Eden Hazard opened the scoring with a deflected effort, which slipped through Will Caballero's legs.
City leveled matters in the 26th minute as Sergio Aguero slotted home from close range, after Thibaut Courtois could parry David Silva's penalty.
Chelsea were then awarded a penalty in the 35th minute when Pedro was brought down by Fernandinho. Hazard stepped up but saw his effort saved, however he fired home the rebound.
There was a good tempo to the encounter in the final 10 minutes of the half, but the score remained as the sides entered the break.
Pep Guardiola's charges saw lot of the ball in the opening 15 minutes of the second half, but struggled to carve out a clear-cut opening.
Chelsea squandered a good chance to grab a third goal in the 75th minute as Hazard blazed over the crossbar from 12-yards out, after some good work by Pedro down the right.
Guardiola opted for a change as City went in search of an equaliser as De Bruyne made way for Raheem Sterling in the 78th minute.
City should have leveled matters in stoppage time, but John Stones somehow scooped his effort over the crossbar from six-yards out.
Nonetheless, the score remained 2-1 to Chelsea who return to winning ways, while City stuttering season continued.
