English Premier League
Result: Chelsea 2-0 Fulham
Date: 02 December 2018
Venue: Stamford Bridge
Chelsea returned to winning ways in the English Premier League with a 2-0 victory over Fulham at Stamford Bridge on Sunday.
Fresh from a big win over PAOK in the Europa League, a number of first team regulars returned to the side, including Eden Hazard who was a doubt for the match.
The Blues got off to a fine start when N'Golo Kante surged forward and played in Pedro, who skipped past one challenge before slotting into the far corner.
Despite the good star, Sarri's men struggled to carve out more chances as Fulham were sat deep in their own half.
Unfortunately, that proved to be the trend for the rest of the first half as the hosts had all the possession without creating much in the final third.
Fulham nearly restored parity in the 53rd minute as Callum Chambers' glancing header was saved by Kepa Arrizabalaga before the Blues defence managed to clear.
Kepa came to Chelsea's rescue once again in the 65th minute with a good save to keep out Chambers' effort from the edge of the box.
Alvaro Morata, who replaced Olivier Giroud, should have doubled Chelsea's lead with 16 minutes remaining but he somehow blazed over the crossbar from six-yards out.
The win was sealed in the 81st minute as Eden Hazard turned provider to tee up Ruben Loftus-Cheek, who placed his effort into the corner.
