Venue: Turf Moor
Anthony Martial netted for the second straight game, to hand Manchester United a 1-0 win over Burnley at Turf Moor on Saturday evening.
The Red Devils enjoyed a lot of the possession in the opening stages of the half, but they struggled to break down the Burnley defence.
After a quiet spell in the half, the hosts went close in the 25th minute, when Jeff Hendrick sent a powerful long rang effort inches wide of the upright.
Clear cut chances were hard to come by for both sides, in the first half and they were both restricted to efforts from distance.
United did go close just before the halftime break, as Ashley Young cut inside before curling a right-footed effort inches wide of the upright.
10 minutes into the second half, United broke the deadlock as Anthony Martial scored for the second game running, with a cool finish after being picked out Romelu Lukaku.
Burnley hit back in the 58th minute, but Johann Berg Gudmundsson's curling free-kick rattled the crossbar with David de Gea well beaten.
As Burnley looked more lively on the ball, Jose Mourinho opted for a change in the 73rd minute, as Marouane Fellaini replaced Juan Mata.
The host pushed for an equaliser in the closing stages, but United stood firm in the closing stages to claim three points on the night.
