Date: 30 June 2020
Venue: AMEX Stadium
January signing Bruno Fernandes continued his impressive form by bagging a brace in Manchester United's 3-0 win over Brighton and Hove Albion.
Paul Pogba, Marcus Rashford and Anthony Martial returned to the line-up after starting the FA Cup clash on the bench, as Juan Mata, Scott McTominay, Odion Ighalo and Fred dropped out.
After dominating in the early stages, United had to wait until the 12th minute for their first sight at goal when Bruno Fernandes rattled the upright from the edge of the box.
The visitors were not to be four minutes later as Mason Greenwood dribbled his way into the box before firing home at the near post for his 13th goal across all competitions this season.
There was a second goal just before the half-an-hour mark as Luke Shaw's cross found its way to Pogba, who teed up Fernandes on the edge of the box but the Portuguese's strike deflected in off a Brighton defender.
It was more of the same in the second half for the Red Devils, who bagged a third goal on 49 minutes as Greenwood turned provider to pick out Fernades, who volleyed home at the far post.
With the visitors comfortably leading, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer withdrew Pogba, Fernandes and Shaw for Brandon Williams, Andreas Periera and McTominay for the final 30 minutes.
David de Gea was eventually called upon in the 70th minute after being a spectator for most of the game, as he did well to tip Aaron Conolly's effort over the bar.
Both sides pushed for goals in the latter stages of the half, especially Brighton but 3-0 was how the encounter finished as United moved to within two points of fourth-place Chelsea who face West Ham United on Wednesday night.
