Venue: Amex Stadium
Arsenal's dismal Premier League campaign continued after they went down 2-1 to Brighton and Hove Albion at the Amex Stadium on Sunday afternoon.
Seven minutes into the first half, Brighton broke the deadlock when Shane Duffy's header across the face of goal was turned home by Lewis Dunk.
Dunk should have doubled the hosts' lead in the 18th minute but he headed over the crossbar from close range, before Petr Cech produced a fine save to deny Glen Murray from close range.
Brighton did double their lead on 26 minutes as the Gunners gave possession away, which allowed Stephen Gross to cross for Murray, who sent a towering header past Cech.
The Gunners managed to pull a goal back just before the half-time break when Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang turned home Granit Xhaka's pass.
Mesut Ozil nearly restored parity in the 57th minute with a powerful strike from the edge of the box but goalkeeper Matt Ryan produced a superb save to deny the German midfielder.
Arsene Wenger opted for a change after 75 minutes as former Manchester United striker Danny Welbeck replaced Alex Iwobi.
Brighton thought they had a third goal in the 84th minute when Murray tapped into an empty net, only for the striker's effort to be ruled or an offside in the build-up.
The home side managed to see off a late surge from the Gunners to hold on to a vital win to boost their survival hopes.
