Result: Bournemouth 1-2 Arsenal
Date: 25 November 2018
Venue: Vitality Stadium
Arsenal extended their unbeaten run in all competitions to 17 matches after defeating Bournemouth 2-1, with an African superstar netting the winning goal.
Despite the impressive unbeaten run, the Gunners were pushing for a return to winning ways after back-to-back draws in the league against Liverpool and Wolverhampton Wanderers.
Bournemouth had the ball in the back of the net after nine minutes, but Brooks' strike was flagged offside before Lucas Torreira hit the woodwork moments later.
The Gunners managed to carve out another chance after 24 minutes when Henrikh Mkhitaryan picked out Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, who volleyed over the crossbar.
Arsenal eventually broke the deadlock six minutes later as Jefferson Lerma's attempt to clear Sead Kolasinac's cross ended up in his own net.
However, the Cherries managed to restore parity on the stroke of halftime, with Joshua King firing past Bernd Leno from close range.
The second half got off to a slow start as neither side could carve out any meaningful chances in the opening 15 minutes of the stanza.
However, the Gunners restored their lead in the 67th minute as Kolasinac registered a second assist to pick out Aubameyang, who fired home from close range.
The hosts were nearly level in the 84th minute as Lerma looked to redeem himself but his effort from distance crashed against the upright with Leno well beaten.
Despite Bournemouth's late push for an equaliser, Unai Emery's men held out defensively to claim three points.
