English Premier League
Full Time: Arsenal 2-0 Stoke City
Date: 12 September 2015
Venue: Emirates Stadium
Goals from Theo Walcott and Olivier Giroud handed Arsenal their third win of the league season after beating Stoke City 2-0 in an English Premier League match at the Emirates Stadium on Saturday.
The home side started well and almost scored in the third minute when Alexis Sanchez met a well-weighted cross, but his header went inches wide of the post.
Eight minutes later Sanchez came close to finding the back of the net again when his shot from the right struck the woodwork.
Arsenal continued to press forward and were rewarded for their efforts on the half hour mark when Mesut Ozil put Walcott through on goal with an inch perfect pass and he made no mistake with just the keeper to beat, 1-0.
Stoke tried to pull a goal back before the break, but the visitors could not penetrate a well-organise Arsenal defence.
The Gunners controlled possession in the second half and almost doubled their lead in the 69th minute when his shot from just inside the box was superbly saved by the Stoke keeper.
Arsenal made certain of the victory in the 85th minute when Olivier Giroud headed home a Santi Cazorla cross, 2-0.
