Club Friendly Report: Arsenal v Chelsea 22 July 2017
Result: Arsenal v Chelsea
Date: 22 July 2017
Michy Batshuayi bagged a brace to inspire Chelsea to a 3-0 win over Arsenal in a pre-season friendly on Saturday afternoon.
Chelsea nearly went ahead after six minutes through Willia, but the Brazilian dragged his low effort inches wide of the upright from close range.
The Gunners, meanwhile, struggled to stamp their authority on the encounter and barle threatened the opponent's goal.
The Blues eventually broke the deadlock in the 40th minute, as the Brazilian cut inside before curling the ball into far corner.
The lead was doubled a minute later. N'Golo Kante played in Michy Batshuayi, who controlled well and fired home a fine effort from the edge of the box.
Chelsea made it 3-0 shortly after the break, as Marcos Alonso weaved his way into the box before picking out Batshuayi, who rifled the ball into the top corner.
Antonio Conte introduced some new young faces for the final 30 minutes of the second half with the likes of Kalas, Christensen and Clarke-Salter being introduced.
Arsene Wenger's charges, meanwhile, struggled to carve out clear-cut chances even with introduction of Olivier Giroud.
Nevertheless, 3-0 is how the score remained at the full-time whistle, as the two sides will once again meet in Community Shield next month.
