Chelsea Transfer News: 11 Expected Departures

As many as 11 Chelsea players could leave Stamford Bridge in the upcoming transfer window, including the club's record signing, as coach Thomas Tuchel plans to adjust to life under new ownership.

Since Tuchel's arrival, the Blues have steadily improved as they look to close the gap between them and perennial title challengers Liverpool and Manchester City, although their run of just two wins in their past six matches in the league prove improvements still need to be made at the club.

This all comes in the midst of a drawn-out sale of the club. The United Kingdom government has taken control of ex-owner Roman Abramovich's assets, with Chelsea being one of them as they look to sanction the sale of the club after the Russian-Israeli oligarch's 19-year reign in west London.

A plethora of Chelsea squad members seem to be on the verge of leaving the reigning UEFA Champions League winners, with the club's stability remaining in question.

Do you think Erik ten Hag will be a success at Manchester United?

The defence could see a mass exodus of players, with Andreas Christensen and Antonio Rudiger all but set to leave the club.

Both of the two central defenders' contracts are set to expire at the end of the season, with Rudiger reportedly set to join Real Madrid, while the Dane, Christensen, is tipped to join Barcelona.

Marcos Alonso has one year remaining on his current contract, and it has been suggested that Tuchel would be ready to sell the Spaniard if a suitable buyer could be found.

Possible departures are also on the cards for English midfielders Ruben Loftus-Cheek, Ross Barkley, and Callum Hudson-Odoi, while Saul Niguez is expected to return to Atletico Madrid once his loan deal expires.

Mbappe's Mother Reveals Plans For His Future

Romelu Lukaku is another whose time at Chelsea could be over in the next transfer window as he has started just three games for the side since late February.

This situation does not appear sustainable for a player who was signed for €113 million (R1.9 billion), supposedly at the peak of his career.
