The Belgian winger has enjoyed an impressive start to the Premier League campaign so far, scoring five goals in his first five appearances.
The 27-year-old is yet to score 20 goals in a single season in his professional career, but Sarri has backed the player to score 40 goals in 2018/19.
"I think so (that Hazard can win the Golden Boot this season)," Sarri told reporters, according to BBC Sport.
"We have spoken and I told him he can score 40 goals.
"He has to improve some things, but he can do it. If you saw the game today, you have to say (he believed me)."
