Brentford have secured promotion to the Premier League for the first time after defeating Swansea City 2-0 in the play-off final on Saturday afternoon.
The Bees got off to the perfect start after being award a penalty for Freddie Woodman's foul on Bryan Mbeumo, which allowed Ivan Toney to slot home his 30th goal of the season on 10 minutes.
It got better for Brentford 10 minutes later when a swift counter-attack ended with Emiliano Marcondes firing into the corner with a first-time finish.
Toney went agonisingly close to adding his second goal in spectacular fashion as his volley crashed against the crossbar with Woodman well-beaten.
Swansea, meanwhile, were unable to get their attacking game going as they barely troubled Brentford goalkeeper David Raya in the opening 45 minutes.
With nothing changing early in the second half, Swansea introduced Liam Cullen for Kyle Naughton as their first change of the afternoon in the 60th minute.
However, the situation worsened for the Swans five minutes later when Jay Fulton was shown a straight red card for a dangerous challenge on Mathias Jensen.
The side from Wales were unable to claw their way back into the contest as Brentford held on to join Norwich City and Watford in the Premier League for the first time in their history.
