Liverpool have finally made their move for their main midfield target, with reports suggesting that they have now agreed a fee for Bayern Munich star Thiago Alcantara.
The Reds have been linked with the Spain international for most of this transfer window, but it was reported that they were not keen on the large price tag when considering that he has only one year left on his contract with the Bundesliga club.
However, Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp is now reportedly on the brink of getting his man, with the Daily Mail reporting that a £27 million (R572 million) fee has been agreed with the German giants.
The Athletic's LFC reporter James Pearce confirmed the news via his Twitter account, writing: "Liverpool have now made their move for Thiago Alcantara. Understand that a fee of around 30million Euros has been agreed with Bayern Munich for the Spain international. What a signing for the Premier League champions."

The Reds are also facing uncertainty regarding the future of Georginio Wijnaldum, who is said to be a top target for new FC Barcelona boss Ronald Koeman.
Thiago played a starring role in Bayern's stellar 2019/20 season, which was capped off with the UEFA Champions League trophy.
Liverpool's fierce rivals Manchester United had also been credited with interest in the midfielder, but it is understood that the La Furia Roja star preferred a move to Anfield.
