Arsenal striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang has explained why he allowed Alexandre Lacazette to take the Gunners' second penalty despite being on a hat-trick.
The Gabon international netted a brace as the Gunners cruised to a 3-0 win over Stoke City on Sunday afternoon.
However, the striker had the chance to complete his hat-trick with a second penalty, but he gave the opportunity to Lacazette, who slotted away the penalty.
“I knew that Laca is back," Aubameyang was quoted as saying by the Mirror.
"I'd scored twice so I let him shoot – it was good for his confidence".
The 28-year-old has now scored five goals in his first six games for the North London outfit.
