The Frenchman surpassed the former Red Devils legend in games managed in the Premier League when the Gunners took on West Bromwich Albion on New Year's Eve.

Wenger has now managed 811 EPL matches, surpassing Ferguson's 810 games, and the Scottish tactician was quick to congratulate the Frenchman.

"I applaud Arsene on surpassing my record of managing 810 Premier League games," Ferguson said via the League Managers' Association.
"It is a fantastic milestone which has required the highest standards of dedication and professional management to achieve. I doubt his record, whatever it turns out to be, will ever be beaten.
"Congratulations on a truly remarkable career and great service to football and Arsenal FC."

Come on people yes he Wenger hasn't won as many trophies as he should of considering the amount of games he was in charge for. Having said that it's a fantastic milestone to achieve in a fickle and tough league like the Premier League. Good on the owners to stick with their manager. How many clubs today will do that not many. Having said that just like Fergusons tactics is out dated so is Wenger and maybe now is the time to give another manager a chance to move Arsenal forward. We have in South African football as well in Jomo Cosmos. What has Jomo achieved being the longest manager. Should he not hand over the reigns to another coach?

LOL! This has got to be the most shameful record given what he has achieved at Arsenal. Only the year of the invincibles was great but even then they were proven otherwise via champions league!

He hasnt done bad. He has produced good football in a physical league and maintained the standard for decades. He has produced many good footballers. He might need to win some silverware if he needs to be one of the greatest managers.
