Arsene Wenger Backs Former Arsenal Star To Succeed Him

By Keegan Kruger - May 18, 2018 05:00 PM @KeeganKruger

Former Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has backed an ex-Gunners captain to succeed him at the Emirates next season.

Wenger Reveals Big Ronaldo Regret

Rumours have it that the north London club will announce their new manager sometime next week, and it is Manchester City assistant coach Mikel Arteta who is the current frontrunner for the position.

When asked if he thought the Spaniard was the right man for the job, Wenger insisted that the former midfielder has all the qualities to be a successful manager, and backed him for the Emirates hot seat.

"He has all the qualities to do the job, yes, and I think, as well, he is one of the favourites," Wenger told beIN SPORTS.

"He was a leader, and he has a good passion for the game, and he knows the club well, he knows what is important at the club, and he was captain of the club. Why not?"

The Frenchman also insisted that Arsenal have an experienced coaching staff that is capable of guiding Arteta if necessary.

"I left a lot of experience behind me, people who were with me, like Steve Bould, who has six years' experience, and Jens Lehmann too," he added.

"He has been an assistant of Guardiola as well, so overall I think he has the qualities."

Arteta, who recently won the Premier League title with the Citizens, played 150 times for the Gunners, scoring 16 goals along the way.

Wenger does not see Arsenal getting better than what it is now,he only wants the team to remain where it is or going further down from where he left it,so everyone would think he was the best manager. From what I think,Gunners need an experienced coach like fellow bloggers have said,we cant afford someone who'll give excuses like 'Rome wasn't built in 1 day'. If they hire Arteta, then we're doomed as Gunners fans, even the management doesn't care about us. This team have the potential to win trophies and play better, but it needs someone with a passion for the team to steer it to the right direction...!

they know that guy wont ask to much from them because he is inexperience himself if he says want quality player they will still ask this bullying questions who told you we dont have quality how well do you know about quality because you have never been manager before who told you we dont have quality so Arsenals mentality is very avarage they need to shake up everything not to change but shake well with best psychological ingredience

Wenger himself failed us for several seasons and Arteta as a captain failed us including Steve Bould so we need a well experienced Manager to sort out the mess Wenger left behind.
