Arsenal Manager Arsene Wenger Names His Potential Successor
Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger has named who he thinks could be a future manager of the North London club.
The 68-year-old, who has recently announced that he will be leaving the Emirates at the end of this season, has received a lot of criticism for his team’s inconsistent performances this season and it could see them miss out on playing in the UEFA Champions League for a second consecutive campaign.
The veteran manager admitted that club legend Patrick Vieira could be one of the names to take over once the job becomes vacant.
"He works at the moment in New York and he works for Manchester City," Wenger said, as quoted by FourFourTwo.
"He's a guy who has the potential one day, yes. I've followed his managerial career.
"I think he does very well but overall, this Premier League is special.
"You have to come in and there are plenty of former players who played here who have potential, the intelligence and knowledge to do it."
The former France midfielder, who has mentioned that he would be interested in a return to the Gunners, won three Premier League titles and a three FA Cups during his nine-year spell at Arsenal.
