Alexis Sanchez Explains Why Manchester United Have Not Seen Him At His Best
After his Man of the Match performance against Tottenham Hotspur in the FA Cup semi-final on Saturday, Chile superstar Alexis Sanchez explained why it has taken a while for Manchester United to see the best of him.
The 29-year-old, who moved to Old Trafford from Arsenal in the January transfer window, helped the Red Devils book their place in the final against Chelsea after heading home his side's first goal in their 2-1 win over Spurs.
Sanchez has since admitted he has found it tough adapting to life in Manchester, but promised United fans they will see the best of him next season.
"The change has been very, very difficult for me," he said, as quoted by the Daily Express.
"I arrived at a big club and I changed everything from before. The coach told me he doesn't like to sign players in January and it would take time for me to become accustomed to the new players.
"He just tried to help me improve. He told me to attack and defend and enjoy the matches.
"I demand a lot from myself every match, every day. Now I am very happy for the team, for the goal and for the attitude we showed in the game.
"It will give me confidence. My teammates always help me but I hope to demonstrate my qualities more. I hope we can go on and win the FA Cup but next season we have to try to win everything."
The former FC Barcelona and Udinese star has made 14 appearances for the Red Devils so far, scoring three goals and assisting a further five strikes.
