African star Mohamed Salah has broken a Liverpool record set by club legend Robbie Fowler after bagging a brace in their 3-0 win over Southampton at Anfield.
The Egyptian forward has enjoyed a fine start to the Premier League season, as he took his tally to nine goals after netting a brace against the Saints.
With his first goal on the day, Salah equalled Fowler's record of scoring eight goals in his first 12 league matches.
However, Salah broke the Reds legend's record with his second goal against the Saints and set a new record of nine goals in his first 12 league matches.
The Egypt international also currently tops the Golden Boot race in the Premier League, one goal ahead of Alvaro Morata, Romelu Lukaku, Harry Kane, Sergio Aguero and Gabriel Jesus, who all have eight.
