Many pundits and fans are concerned with the current situation involving Mourinho and the 34-yerar-old at United, especially given the manager’s track record.
The Portuguese has not been scared to voice his discontent with stars players in the past, and an example of this is Eden Hazard. The pair seemed to be on different wavelengths at the start of the 2015/16 season, which eventually led to a reported spat.
It was also believed that Mourinho and striker Diego Costa were no longer getting along, and Mourinho was eventually fired by Chelsea early in 2016. Before his fallout with the aforementioned two, he claimed Juan Mata was a “luxury player”.
Current Manchester City superstar Kevin De Bruyne is another player the manager showed little mercy at Chelsea, although many fans believe it is the Belgian who gets the last laugh.
The Portuguese was also reported to have a few disagreements with players in his first spell at Chelsea, with William Gallas once revealing the reason he left the Blues was because his No.13 shirt number was given to Michael Ballack.
The report claims that Ricardo Quaresma fell out with Mourinho at Inter Milan in 2008, after the skilful winger insisted that joining the Italian giants was the biggest regret of his career, where the thought of attending training would often reduce him to tears.
Ex-Real Madrid winger Pedro Leon once revealed that Mourinho used to bully him, while his relationship with Sergio Ramos was also believed to be unhealthy. The pair reportedly had several rows at Los Blancos.
Many will not forget Mourinho’s well documented fallout with Real legend Iker Casillas, who he dropped to the bench in his final season in charge. The two have talked about one another publicly in recent years, with hardly a kind word being said.
