Germany international Bernd Leno moved to Arsenal in July, and many thought he would take over from Petr Cech as the Gunners' No. 1. The keeper cost the London side £19.2 million (R376 million) from Bayer Leverkusen, but is yet to make his debut for the club.
Everton brought two former FC Barcelona stars to Goodison Park, and they, too, are yet to be seen in the Toffees' colours. Portugal international Andre Gomes is on loan from the Blaugrana, while Colombian Yerry Mina was signed permanently for £26.8 million (R525 million).
A player we all expected to feature by now is Liverpool's Brazilian import Fabinho. The midfielder cost the Reds £39 million (R764 million) from Monaco and looked to be the strong, reliable option to protect a back four that was needing cover but he is another who has had to bide his time.
