Despite many being envious of the depth in Solskjaer's squad, it appears the Norwegian could be planning a clearout starting in the next transfer window.
According to The Sun, French striker Anthony Martial is among seven players who could be for sale at the 20-time English champions, with the board and first-team manager reportedly seeking to raise funds for potential future signings.
Transfermarkt values the 25-year-old forward at about €45 million (R780 million), but it seems unlikely United will attract a bid to match that figure given the player's form in recent seasons.
Martial managed to score just seven goals across all competitions in the previous campaign for the Red Devils, and has played a total of only 100 minutes of football so far this season.
Netherlands international Donny van de Beek, valued at about €30 million (R520 million), is another who could be shipped out before the end of this season, as is Jesse Lingard.
While reports suggest that the 28-year-old England midfielder will soon be offered a bumper new deal at United, it could be an attempt from the Red Devils to avoid losing him for free in June 2022, when his contract expires.
Lingard enjoyed a fruitful six-month loan spell at West Ham United between January and July this year, contributing to an impressive 14 goals in nine games. This season so far, he has scored twice in four matches for Solskjaer's side.
