United completed four deals on a frantic deadline day, while several EPL sides also added new faces to their squads.
The transfer window to buy players from Europe's top leagues has now passed, but the English Football League window is still open until 16 October.
As a consequence, EPL clubs such as United can still sign, sell or loan players to and from Championship, League 1 and League 2 sides.
There are several interesting options on the market, a number of whom have been linked with EPL teams in recent weeks.
United reportedly made an enquiry about Watford winger Ismaila Sarr on deadline day, but had their bid rejected.
According to the Daily Mail, the Red Devils wanted to loan the Senegal winger and even offered a €27.5 million (R534 million) purchase option, but Watford are said to be holding out for €44 million (R855 million) for the 22-year-old.
Said Benrahma is another Championship star who is heavily linked with a Premier League move. The 25-year-old Algerian winger impressed for Brentford last season, awaking the interest of Chelsea, Arsenal, Aston Villa, West Ham United and Crystal Palace.
Swansea centre-back Joe Rodon was said to be close to joining Tottenham Hotspur on deadline day but ended up staying at the Liberty Stadium. He remains a Swansea player for now, but many expect him to be a Premier League player by 16 October, with West Ham also said to be interested.
