With Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho reportedly having a few names on his desired wish list for this transfer window, here are 10 stars who have been heavily linked with the Red Devils.

According to Spanish publication Sport, the Portuguese tactician is desperate to close the gap on city rivals Manchester City next season, and knows he will need to make a few big signings if he is to do so.

In the past few days, two players have been said to be on the verge of joining the Old Trafford outfit – Fred from Shakhtar Donetsk and Portugal youngster Diogo Dalot from FC Porto.

Although the news has gone a bit quiet for now, the former Chelsea boss is still said to be keeping a close eye on Inter Milan winger Ivan Perisic and Juventus left-back Alex Sandro. Mourinho is apparently is a massive admirer of both players, and has not given up hope of signing them. 

Real Madrid's Gareth Bale, Tottenham Hotspur's Toby Alderweireld and West Ham United striker Marko Arnautovic have also all been heavily tipped to move to the English giants in recent days.

Others players who could join the Red Devils in this window include Mario Mandzukic, Monaco's Djibril Sidibe and Aston Villa's Jack Grealish.
