The prolonged 2019/20 campaign has left many clubs in limbo as to whether to extend expiring player contracts or release some of their first team members.
FIFA allowed for deals expiring on 30 June to be extended by two months in order for clubs to finish the current campaign with a competitive squad, but some EPL sides decided to not make use of the option when it came to certain players.
The Premier League published its official release list recently, and it included the likes of Nathaniel Clyne from Liverpool as well as former Manchester City duo Joe Hart, who was let go by Burnley, and Pablo Zabaleta, whose West Ham United deal ran out.
In addition, United did not agree new contracts for Cameron Borthwick-Jackson as well as the highly-rated Angel Gomes.
Leicester City, meanwhile, confirmed the release of Faiq Bolkiah. The 22-year-old did not make a first-team appearance for the Foxes, but made headlines in 2018 when British media introduced him as "world's richest footballer" because he is the nephew of the Sultan of Brunei, Hassanal Bolkiah, who is said to be worth a whopping $20 billion (R339 billion).
