We have seen many instances in football when managers and players stop getting along, with former Manchester United boss Ferguson experiencing this on many occasions.
The Scotsman was involved in a huge bust-up with former United star Beckham, with it becoming public knowledge that, during a half-time team talk in the changing room, the manager had kicked a football boot that hit the former England captain in the face.
Ferguson also fell out with Roy Keane after the Irishman slammed some of his United colleagues on MUTV – something that did not go down well with the boss. He also later had a spat with Dutchman Ruud van Nistelrooy, which led to the forward's eventual transfer to Real Madrid in 2006.
Pep Guardiola has also not seen eye to eye with a few stars he has worked with, including Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Yaya Toure. The towering Swede spilled the beans after he left FC Barcelona for AC Milan on loan in 2009, accusing the Spaniard of not being "a man".
Toure, meanwhile, came to be overlooked by Guardiola as Sergio Busquets became the manager's preferred man in midfield, and the Ivorian later admitted that, in his final year at Barca, he and the Spanish tactician hardly spoke to each other.
In 2012, arguably the most physical of the bust-ups occurred when former Fiorentina boss Delio Rossi attacked midfielder Adem Ljajic on the bench after he had substituted the Serb. Ljajic now plays for Inter Milan, while Rossi is the head coach at Italian club Bologna.
Jose Mourinho, who fell out with Juan Mata at Chelsea, also features in the gallery. The Spaniard joined Manchester United from the Stamford Bridge club in 2014, and was accused by the former Blues mentor of being a "luxury" footballer, despite the playmaker being named the club's Player of the Year the season before his exit. The Portuguese also had a massive fallout with Iker Casillas at Real Madrid, after he accused the Los Blancos legend of leaking dressing room secrets to people outside the club.
Roberto Mancini is another high-profile boss who features on the list, due to his spat with controversial Italian forward Mario Balotelli at Manchester City. The pair almost came to blows during a training session, with both men having to be held back from one another.
The last of our manager/player fallouts concerns Roma boss Luciano Spalletti and club legend Francesco Totti, with the manager preferring to use the Italian in a bench role. However, Totti's brace on Wednesday night could get the player back into the starting XI.
