The duo squared up to each other in the second half of the famous derby after Vinicius thought Pique had fouled him.
With the pair exchange some words during the incident, the Brazilian, who scored Real's opening strike in their 2-0 win, has now recalled what was said.
"I thought he'd trod on me, but then I watched the video and it wasn't him, it was Arthur," Vinicius told Real's official YouTube channel.
"That's why he asked if I was crazy."
According to Marca, who had experts analyse TV footage of the incident, Pique said "I didn't touch you, I didn't touch you," during their heated exchange.
Vinicius was ultimately one of the heroes for Real on the day after his goal gave Los Blancos the lead, with Mariano Diaz scoring a late second strike.
The El Clasico victory saw Real overtake their bitter rivals in the LaLiga title race, with the Madrid club now one point above the Blaugrana at the top of the table with 12 games still to be played.
