The two giant clubs will meet in their first Clasico since the Spanish Super Cup at the start of the season, where Real dominated over two fixtures.

Since then, Barca have been in better form, though their opponents will be confident going into the clash following their FIFA Club World Cup win earlier this month.

Messi is the highest scorer in Clasico history, having scored 24 times against his side’s rivals. His last goal against Real came in Barca’s dramatic 3-2 win at the Santiago Bernabéu last season in La Liga, where the Argentine scored in the last seconds of the match.

Real legend Alfredo Di Stefano is second on the list with 18 strikes, while Cristiano Ronaldo is just one strike away from equalling his tally. Former Los Blancos skipper Raul scored 15 times against Barca in his career.

Barca legend Cesar Rodriguez scored 14 goals against Real, while Francisco Gento and Ferenc Puskas both hit the back of the net the same amount of times.

Former Real Star Santillana struck on 12 occasions in the derby, while the final two names, Hugo Sanchez and Juanito, scored 10 times each against Barca.
