Inter Milan star Romelu Lukaku has reportedly upset club officials after making a remarkable claim about the coronavirus within the dressing room.
Lukaku recently sparked controversy when he claimed it was possible that almost the entire Inter Milan side had been infected by the coronavirus between January and February, saying that 23 of 25 players showed flu-like symptoms at the same time.
The former Manchester United star's comments, which he made during an Instagram Live video, reportedly upset club officials, who questioned the authenticity of the allegations made by the Belgium international, according to Italian publication Corriere della Sera.
While no formal denial was made by Inter officials, the club reportedly has a record of only Stefan De Vrij and Danilo D'Ambrosio showing symptoms, while Alessandro Bastoni and Milan Skriniar went through a bout of flu at a later stage.
Italy is at the epicentre of Europe's coronavirus crisis, and has already reported more than 180 000 confirmed cases and more than 24 000 deaths.
