Manchester United are said to be closing in on their second signing of the window, having reportedly made progress in talks over a Real Madrid player who is understood to have already agreed personal terms with the Premier League side.
The Red Devils have signed only Donny van de Beek so far, while their attempts to secure main target Jadon Sancho's signature have stuttered.
In the meantime, United have shifted their focus to Los Blancos left-back Sergio Reguilon. The 23-year-old impressed on loan at Sevilla last season, helping them lift the UEFA Europa League trophy.
However, Real have Marcelo and Ferland Mendy in his position too, leaving no space for the up-and-coming left-back.

United are said to be keen to buy the Spaniard, but are yet to agree a fee with Real. Talks between the clubs are reportedly ongoing, with the main issue seemingly being the LaLiga side's insistence on a buyback clause.
The fullback has reportedly already agreed personal terms with the Premier League side. He was also targeted by Sevilla, but the Andalusian club has now bought Marcos Acuna from Sporting Lisbon after falling behind United in the Reguilon race.
Real are reportedly requesting a fee of €30 million (R587 million) for the left-back, while United are understood to have offered €25 million (R489 million), but a deal is expected to be agreed soon.
