With Manchester United seemingly struggling to secure deals for Jadon Sancho and Gareth Bale in this window, the Red Devils have now received a boost after Juventus put one of the Premier League club's reported targets up for sale.
Sancho looks set to stay at Borussia Dortmund as United are not prepared to meet the Bundesliga side's €120 million (R2.35 billion) asking price, while Bale seems to be favouring a loan move to Tottenham Hotspur.
United, though, are said to still be in the market for a winger, and could shift their focus to Douglas Costa.
According to Goal, the Brazilian has been put up for sale by Juventus as he is said to not be in the plans of new coach Andrea Pirlo, who has been tasked with revamping an ageing squad.
Blaise Matuidi and Miralem Pjanic have already left Juve to join Inter Miami and FC Barcelona, respectively, while Gonzalo Higuain and Sami Khedira have also been told to find new clubs.
Costa's injury record, though, could provide reason for hesitation from United as the 30-year-old has made more than 30 league appearances in a season only once since joining Bayern Munich in 2015.
He has featured in 101 games since joining Juventus in 2017 – initially on loan before securing a permanent deal a year later – and has scored 10 goals and assisted another 21 strikes for the Bianconeri.
With Costa having two more years left on his Juve contract, the Serie A giants are said to be keen to cash in on him in this window.
