With reports in Italy claiming Alexis Sanchez has agreed terms with Inter Milan, a former teammate of the Manchester United forward believes he could get back to his best in Serie A.
The Chilean has struggled at Old Trafford since joining from Arsenal back in January 2018, having only registered five goals and nine assists in 45 appearances.
United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer recently revealed Sanchez would have a part to play for the club this season, especially after the departure of Romelu Lukaku.
However, Antonio Di Natale, who played with Sanchez at Udinese, feels the two-time Copa America winner has all the tools to flourish in the Italian top flight once again.
"Sanchez to Inter would be an extraordinary coup and a gamble that both parties could win comfortably," Di Natale told Gazzetta dello Sport.
"Alexis is an exemplary professional, someone who always arrived early for training sessions and never held back during a match. He is returning to Italy, where he left an excellent reputation, and he was strongly wanted by a great coach like (Antonio) Conte, who had asked for his signature back when he was at Juventus.
"He has all the ingredients needed for a great season. Alexis needs people to have faith in him and I am sure he'll do well with Conte. I think he had some fitness problems over the last 18 months and he certainly had difficulty settling in at Manchester United."
